World's Top Marketing, Communications and Media Professionals

to be Honored at a Gala Awards Ceremony in San Francisco

WOODSIDE, Calif. - World's top marketing, communications and media professionals will be honored at a gala award ceremony on Friday, April 22, at the Pan Pacific Hotel in San Francisco. Honorees won in one or more categories of The Dalton Pen Communications Awards program or won a nomination for an Impacting Our World award which is part of the Dalton Pen Program. Who's who winning the latter award include Renay San Miguel of CNN; Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway; Nora McAniff, Executive Vice President, TIME, Inc.; and, Ruth Ann Harnisch, Philanthropist of the Harnisch Family Foundation.

Top 2005 winning entries in the Dalton Pen program were submitted from TIME, Inc., New York Stock Exchange magazine, ESPN, CBS Television, PARADE magazine, Nightly Business Report, The Weather Channel, PGA Tour TV, Telemundo / NBC, Ernst & Young, Reebok, The GAP, T. Rowe Price, Fidelity Investments, Toyota, Harrah’s, Towers-Perrin, Mercedes Benz, Nextel, Aetna, Power & Yacht magazine, Pepperidge Farm, Pfizer, the Music Center of Los Angeles County and other Fortune 500 companies, broadcast networks and stations, media, advertising, marketing and public relations agencies.

This year's judging panel comes with extensive expertise in 44 communications specialties. Some are high-level communicators and executives with backgrounds from well-respected companies such as Walt Disney Co., Canon, WebEx, Porter-Novelli, Hewlett Packard, eBay, Agilent Technologies, Sun Microsystems, and SwanLabs. Others are agency principals with Fortune 500 clients including Coca-Cola, Charles Schwab & Co, Proctor & Gamble, and the Olympics. Judges apply to be on the panel and come from industries including hi-tech, Hollywood, corporate, finance, television/radio and more. They reside in mostly San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, San Jose and South America.

The 27-member judging committee evaluated hundreds of international entries to recognize outstanding projects in the communications field. "This year the competition was especially intense making winning endeavors all the more meaningful," says Linda Warwick, president of Warwick Publishing, CA who has been organizing The Dalton Pen international competition since 1993. "Discovering the creativity and communications innovations of the top entries makes judging entries enjoyable each year," said senior judge Lucille Friedland, M.S., principal of Friedland Marketing & Communications.
